At the beginning of the school year, this committee works with the Rockville Savings Bank and the students to establish bank accounts. Each week during the school year, they pick up the students' deposits from school and bringing them to Rockville Bank and return the passbooks to the students at the school.

 
   
Birthday Board

Once a month the cafeteria birthday bulletin board is decorated/updated with school-wide birthdays.
       
Bolles Motor

This event coincides with the ice cream social this year, and allows families to preview some cars from Bolles Motors and complete a form that results in Lake Street School receiving $5.00 for every completed form.
     
Book Fairs

Twice a year, once in fall and again in spring, our book fair takes place. The PTO runs these events to give parents, students and their siblings an opportunity to purchase books.

Paws to Read

An all year reading program geared to promoting daily reading in each grade level. Students read 15 minutes a day and fill in a calendar to record their reading. Parents and students sign the calendar and turn it in monthly for students to receive a small gift as a reward for their accomplishment.

Project A+ America (Tyson)

Clip and save labels from Tyson products that feature the Project A+ logo. The labels are collected at a participating school, and the school can then redeem them for cash from Tyson.

This is an all volunteer, not-for-profit holiday store for children to purchase gifts for their families. Held in early December, all items available for purchase range from $0.25 to $3.00. Students eagerly look forward to this event each year.
