Lake Street School PTO, Inc. Meeting
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.
Meeting Minutes: A motion was made to pass the May minutes.
Treasurer’s Report: Paul Gilson reviewed the budget. Ice cream and pizza social went well. Scrip orders have recently picked up. $7,000 has been deposited for brick
pavers.
A vote was passed to allocate $400 to the Library.
Vote to allocate money to the Playscape Fund: Julie Marcotte needs to know how much money
will be in the Playscape Fund so she can order more equipment for August. Paul Gilson suggests starting the school year
off with anywhere between $10K - $12K, Maelynn Chew suggests not to transfer
more then $10K, Michael Bolduk strongly encourages to transfer as much as
possible, Darlene and Dave Murray suggests we leave $15K in the General
Fund. Final vote passed was to have $15k
in the General Fund after the transfer.
Board of Education: Nothing to report. Amarjit Buttar was unable to attend the
meeting.
Principal’s Report: Nothing to report. Mr. Testa was unable to attend the meeting.
Teacher’s Report: Mrs. Bernardo and Mrs. Barry presented the
reports for each grade on current topics and upcoming events. Kindergarten has
been planting sunflowers. First grade
went on a field trip to the Senior Center.
Second Grade went to the Planetarium at the Science Center. Third Grade has been studying the life cycle
of animals, and some members of Mrs. Sheridan’s Garden Club were going to be
speaking at the Board of Education Meeting. Fourth Grade took a field trip to Old
Sturbridge Village. Fifth Grade took a
field trip to the Civil War Museum and Town Hall.
Playscape Update: Forms
will be sent home through students to try and get local businesses to purchase
brick pavers or make a donation to the Playscape.
PTO Nominations: Julie Marcotte nominated Paul Gilson for
Treasurer.
