Lake Street School PTO, Inc. Meeting

March 13, 2007

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:03 p.m.

 

A vote was held and approved $100 to go towards a memorial donation to a LSS family.

 

Meeting Minutes:  A motion was made to pass the February minutes.

 

Treasurer’s Report:  Paul Gilson reviewed highlights from the previous month.  Differences were noted between what was budgeted and where we actually are.

 

Paul will email Darlene Murray the full year’s budget which will show funds for 5th grade recognition.

 

Bolles Motors:  LSS received a check for $770.

 

Family Fun Night:  A country and western theme will be held and the auction will take place on Friday from 6-8:30.

 

Playscape:  Photos were available to view from phase 1 and 2.  The brick paver fundraiser will be wrapping up with one final neighborhood and school flier distribution.  Pavers will be ordered in April with a planned June installation.  We hope to reach our goal so that shipping will be free.

 

Volunteers are needed to assist with making follow up telephone calls to local businesses who received a letter requesting a business donation. 

 

Friendly’s Family Fun Night will take place on April 10th.  Leo the Lion will make an appearance and be available for photos.

 

An Avon fundraiser will be held in the future.

 

A comedy night fundraiser is being planned for June 2nd at Georgiana’s in Bolton.

 

LSS can be named on United Way contributions.

 

2007 Fall Fundraiser:  LSS needs to start planning now for this event to get the best deals.  Five companies are being considered and their books were available to look through and a sheet will be on the table to voice opinions on which selections people liked best.

 

Cub Scouts:  The Blue and Gold dinner was a success and 8 boys crossed over to Boy Scouts.  The Annual sleepover event will be held at the NE Air Museum.

 

LSS Board Elections:  Election notices will be coming shortly and will list what the duties are for each board position.

 

Campbell’s Collections:  LSS received two playground balls and an encyclopedia for the library.

 

Odyssey Community School:  A presentation from a participating parent was made regarding the school, what it has to offer and their upcoming open house.
