Lake Street School PTO, Inc. Meeting

April 24, 2007

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:10 p.m.

 

Meeting Minutes:  A motion was made to pass the March minutes.

 

Treasurer’s Report:  Paul Gilson reviewed highlights from the previous month.  Major activity was noted for activity programs and assemblies.

 

Principals Report:  Mr. Testa thanked the Education Committee for all the programs they provide to the students.

 

The budget is the focus for P.A.C.    May 1st is the budget referendum vote.  Reminders   to vote will be sent home with students.  Room parents will be asked to make reminder phone calls to their classes.

 

Kindergarten has 29 students registered thus far. 

 

Friendly’s Fun Night:  Volunteers were thanked for their efforts.  The event made $295.00 for the school.

 

Silent Auction: The event was a success and the school made approximately $2875.00.

 

Science Fair:   The event will be optional for 4-5th grade students due to time constraints with vacation.  Karen Becker has volunteered to chair the event.

 

Playscape:  Volunteers are needed to help set up and run the auction during the Comedy Night fundraiser.  Seating is for 160 people and parents are encouraged to purchase tickets early.

 

The padding and pavers will be set up next for the gazebo and picnic tables.

 

A suggestion was made to have a playgroup set up at the playscape before the first day of school for all incoming kindergarten students.

 

PTO Board:  The group agreed it was a good idea to stagger the board terms.

 

Book Fair:  Wish list tags for the summer reading program will go to teachers before they go home with students.  These books will be pulled for the summer reading program.

 

Cub Scouts:  Pack Olympics were held over the weekend.
