Clearly, our children are our most valuable assets. It is important that families and schools work together to give our children every opportunity to succeed and achieve high academic standards. The following are roles and responsibilities that we as partners will carryout to support student success in school and life.
 
Family / Parent Responsibilities
I agree to carry out the following responsibilities to the best of my ability:
  • Communicate the importance of education and learning to my child.
  • Encourage my child to work hard and cooperate with teachers and other students.
  • Ensure that my child is punctual and attends school everyday, is well rested and ready to learn.
  • Read to my child or encourage my child to read everyday.
  • Provide a quiet time and place for homework and regularly monitor the completion of assignments.
  • Regularly monitor my child’s progress in school.
  • Be involved at school by attending school activities, conferences, and volunteering.
  • Monitor the amount and quality of TV and video games.
  • Respect the school, staff, students, and families.
 
Student Responsibilities
I agree to carry out the following responsibilities to the best of my ability:
  • Come to school, with a positive attitude, ready to learn and work hard.
  • Complete and return, on time, homework assignments which are neat and accurate.
  • Know and follow school and class behavior guidelines.
  • Don’t be a bully.
  • Communicate with my parents and teachers about school so they can help me be successful.
  • Limit my TV watching and video games and instead study or read everyday.
  • Respect the school, staff, students, and families.
 
Staff / School Responsibilities
I agree to carry out the following responsibilities to the best of my ability:
  • Teach classes through interesting and challenging lessons that promote student achievement.
  • Motivate my students to learn and work to their fullest potential.
  • Have high expectations and help every child to develop a love of learning.
  • Communicate regularly with families about student progress.
  • Communicate in a timely manner areas of concern.
  • Provide a warm, safe, caring and bully free learning environment.
  • Provide a meaningful daily homework assignments.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities that improve teaching and learning.
  • Provide parents and students information about the summer and school year reading programs.
  • Provide an annual meeting of staff, parents, and students to review the Home / School Compact.
  • Respect the school, staff, students, and families.
